Softball
The GSC-sponsored Co-ed softball league is an excellent way for graduate students to come together and learn about each other while enjoying the amazing Keweenaw summers. Most departments organize a team or two for weekly league games. Getting involved is easy and best of all FREE!
Step 1—Organize a Team
Have your team members sign the Roster and submit it to Softball Coordinator David Fritz (dlfritz@mtu.edu). Team managers must attend a mandatory meeting with the softball coordinator at the begining of the season and should make sure to have read the Official League Rules.
Step 2—Play Ball !
Your team manager should organize a regular practice time. Then, simply show up for games on league nights (typically Thursdays).
Step 3—Report Your Scores
You should record your scores on a scoresheet. Make sure to email your final scores to the Softball Coordinator after each game.
Step 4—Celebrate
Many teams have post-game celebrations. As well, most years GSC sponsors a post-season social at which league trophies are awarded to the top two teams in each playoff tier. This year we are hosting a party, click the link to get the details.
